In their first road show since the early 90's the Baldknobbers are excited to be coming to Wichita on Wednesday December 16, 2009 at the historic Orpheum Theatre and presented by Village Tours.

In 1959 four brothers calling themselves The Baldknobbers began entertaining visitors to Branson, Missouri. They called their show the Baldknobbers Jamboree. Fifty years and four generations later, The Baldknobbers are still entertaining audiences with country music and their own distinctive brand of hillbilly humor.

"We try to do a nice customer appreciation show every year in December. While it's not a free show, we try to keep the cost very low so that folks realize that they're getting a really good show for a really low price," said Jeff Arensdorf of Village Tours. "Branson has been such a big part of our business over the last twenty years that it only made sense to try and get some entertainers from Branson to come to Wichita. I immediately thought about the Baldknobbers because they were Branson's first show. The fact that it's their 50th anniversary this year, and they've performed here in Wichita before, made the decision to invite them very logical."

"The folks at Village Tours asked if we would come do our Christmas show in Wichita. With our long season in Branson, we hadn't done a road show since the early 90s and then realized that we had not performed in Wichita for over 20 years. With Village Tours presenting the show, we knew it would be great fun!" said, Tim Mabe, producer and comedian Droopy Drawers Jr.

"During the first half we perform the best of this year's country show with all the comedy and all the great country music. When the curtain goes up on the second half fans will enjoy our Baldknobbers Family Christmas," said Tim.

Tickets for the Wichita show are on sale for $22 (lower level seats) and $17 (mezzaanine & balcony). Village will be offering free parking shuttles from Lawrence-Dumont Stadium to the Orpheum for the 1:00 PM performance beginning at 11:30 AM.
